Whitby digs
« Thread started on: Nov 4th, 2009, 2:02pm »

i've sorted digs for Whitby(12 double rooms) , but (and here's the rub), they, along with every other Whitby B&B (by the sounds of it ) will only take booking for three nights, because they say that on a normal bank-hol w/e, they can fill the place with Joe public, so the fact that the 'Scooter scum' are coming is niether here nor there,

Basically Whitby is a shite place for a rally

i'm waiting confirmation of the room cost, i've negotiated a 10% block booking discount, but Whitby is always going to be about 1/3 rd more expensive than, say, Scabby.

I don't want to throw the cat among the pigeons (as I won't be going to any rally at Easter). However, if I was, I certainly would not pay several hundred pounds per couple to go to a scooter rally

BUT, for those who are wanting to go away at Easter

The Yorkshire Alliance have well and truly fell out with the BSRA and have severed all ties. Therefore they are putting on a do at Scarborough at Easter (Scarborough Castle Coasters)

May be able to get digs cheaper and for 2 nights

Just a thought like, personally I'm not sure if I like the idea of the rival rallies, but it does seem like Whitby on a bank holiday may have been a shit idea for a scooter rally

maybe we should save our money and have a Wearside Wanderers weekend away some where

Somewhere like Holland perhaps

if enough people are interested, i'll sort it out for them, but i'm with George on this one, what the f**k is there to do in Whitby for three nights

Hows about havin a ride down ont Saraday, sign on, eat fish n chips, have a pint, then come yem

There's lads in the club that've got Dutch connections, it shouldn't be too hard to organise summit

What "grade" room do you get that costs £240 for a weekend in Whitby? I would expect some pretty amazin extras for that Has the room got a free mini bar and a mechanical bull?

Me, Alec and Harry had to drive down to get digs last time for Whitby, and that was in June. I think it's gonna be a struggle.

Whitby sounds shite and a rip off, why have a scooter rally on the busiest weekend of the year, in one of the busiest coastal resorts? - sheer madness!!!

Why don't we have an all day sesh at our 'second clubhouse' The Clara?! They have bands on every Sunday it always gets busy, it's cheap and we'd be keepin it real!!!!

Anyway, regardless of what everyone else does, I know that's what me and the Bearded one will be doing

Spoke to Dukesy last night, He confirmed they are going to run an alternative weekend in Scaby, will be easier to get a BnB and Whitby is just a little ride out for the fair and show, best of both worlds in my view.

Few people on YSA and Face Book saying they are having bother getting digs in Whitby, some places demanding a 4 night stay??

some people are talking about staying in Scarborough and riding (or getting a taxi) to Whitby for the day time /custom show. (Then doing the Catle Coasters do on the night).

As I've said I'm not doing Easter, but may be an idea for any who are.
